Story Of The Unknown Lurking Behind Borzoi Painting
Featuring local thespians, the play called the innocents, opened its curtains to the public. On the set hangs a picture, about which many strange tales have been told. The owner of the picture who prefers to remain anonymous has had the picture for many years. The lady cannot recall why she bought the picture all she knew was she was going down the road, parked suddenly and bought it for reasons unknown to her up to now. As she waited for the store attendant to hand it to her, she wondered how in the world could she afford it. It was school time soon and she realized that she needed to purchase clothes, books and supplies for the kids. She recalls thinking how to tell the clerk that she was no longer going to buy it for she just cannot afford this beautiful piece of art. In a very loud voice, she yelled that she just had to purchase the portrait no matter what, stopping the clerk before she could return the portrait back in place.
And afterward she paid the attendant, got her painting and walked out still in disbelief about how she could not afford such a thing and how she will have a hard time explaining to her spouse her spur of the moment choice to purchase it. This oil painting was of a Russian wolfhound known as a Borzoi, done between the late 1800's or perhaps the early 1900's. It was indeed an extremely lovely picture but then for those whose eyes are trained to be familiar with the appearance of the Borzoi, he will have to ask why it was done in such a way that the artist painted it in a straight on manner, with its head and shoulders appearing only. Looking at the shoulder and chest, you will see that it is not well proportioned.
The fact that her eyes are trained to know what a Borzoi should look like exactly makes it seem weird as she bought this picture. Her husband, upon arriving home that night began to feel the exact same attraction his wife felt upon seeing that painting for the very first time and this surprised the wife for she thought that her husband would blow up once he sees that she overspent on something they did not need at all. Many experts and amateurs of photography have chosen this as their subject and yet there never was an instance when two photographs came out alike. They could not decipher how it would be possible that the picture changes all the time for sometimes the dog picture would come out like it was three dimensional and then flat at some times, then there would be instances when it would be in full color then black and white all of a sudden, but the weirdest would be lights playing on its surface as well as some sort of silhouette that was shaped like a face, appearing on the right side of the Borzoi.
One time, husband and wife were discussing about whether there was an entity that came along with the picture they had of the Borzoi hound, but then the husband insisted that there was nothing weird about it and they simply imagined too much and it was just light reflections playing with their minds. A large ceramic plate that was on the wall suddenly fell without breaking, not even a crack in sight, and this was a mystery indeed.
The producer director of the playhouse went to the home of the couple upon learning about the stories about the portrait and explained to them that it was perfect for his play which was a story of the supernatural so they gladly loaned it to him so that it could be part of his set. We never truly found out who or what it is that moved into our home the day we got the portrait and perhaps you can help us with this as we lend this to you for your production, the Innocents, the couple told the producer.
